Wow! AIMI's staying true to her elements, and that is with a band! Good news on AIMI just keeps on rolling out!
Think the excerpts from the songs sound pretty good on the site, one or two strange ones but looking forward to hearing them!!!
woah! awesome news, thnks! The songs look nice, cant wait to listen it full! I missed AIMI's voice...
Well, as long as they concentrate on using Aimi's voice over Arai's guitar, we should have something good. Seriously, I stopped listening to Serial TV drama because all their songs are like "Look what we can do with our guitars!" As much as I like great guitar solos, they overdo it. Even Stereopony's cover of "Okami" is better than the original. So if they go along those lines, the band should be successful. We're still not sure if this is pre-emps Aimi going solo or if she's still going to pursue a solo career on the side, right? I read a comment on our website that the same group manages both sites, so I suppose if one goes down, it would answer our question right away, but I'm still waiting on SOMEONE to cut an album so I can go on CDJapan and buy it!
That was my comment haha. But yeh, I'm almost certain that AiU just another "persona" for AIMI much like Tomoko Kawase aka Tommy Heavenly6 aka Tommy february6 aka The Brilliant Green. So we can rest easy knowing that her solo AIMI Official works will still go as planned. Or I could be completely wrong.
Seeing that both AIMI Official and ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND are managed by 1979Factory, I think you're not wrong. AIMI and Arai Hiroki have clearly been working for a while since they have all these songs down already. So, if they have this much content alread, AIMI should already have plenty of solo material ready, if not recorded yet already.
yes, I think the most easily overlooked fact here is that they have music recorded; being a separate unit and their first live being a one man, at this speed, I cant wait to see what they'll do next.
This teaser was recorded from this Zombie Walk <a class="postlink" href="http://www.zombiena.net/2014/05/2014.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.zombiena.net/2014/05/2014.html</a> More PR <a class="postlink" href="https://twitter.com/AIU_OFFICIAL_/status/476970413507887104" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://twitter.com/AIU_OFFICIAL_/statu ... 3507887104</a>
No lie but this is pretty sickkk... Since they're both pretty well-known they'll probably receive a lot of attention. Also, that Aiko photo looks very similar to the photo shoot AIMI did for her beach picture like the one on one of the forum icons.
If their music will be like the music in this teaser it's what they call transcendental mediocrity...
AiU's latest video clip is now uploaded in their Youtube account. Based on what I've seen and heard, I'd have to agree with leo_harisson's statement, and might I add the song and its video is not good! I can not believe that it is AIMI's voice, as the song seems to be not her genre and too divergent from her style. The voice seems to belong to another person.
I think what ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND is trying to do is create their own niche genre. I'm sure you've heard of the group BABYMETAL, right? A few of us were discussing how ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND could possibly receive a lot of attention since their concept is sort of similar with heavy sounding music and a cute female vocalist.
Well, yes. But still, there is a danger of alienating too much of AiU's member's respective fanbase. Although we want artists to grow in their craft, especially AIMI's, the artists should also take care not to become too much unrecognizable to their fans and followers.
The only thing is, in this genre Aimi totally doesn't sound like Aimi. In all of her previous music, I could easliy identify it as Aimi. Even in all their live shows, Aimi sounds, well, exactly like Aimi. But with the Alice in Underground, I would not have know it was Aimi if i wasn't told it was her. The sound is just so different. I love metal, so I am glad ot see her go for a heavier sound. I just hope she keep doing solo work and comes out with something more Aimi like. If that makes sense.
AIMI is a solo artist and will still keep doing what she has always been doing. AiU seems more like a side project, where she's free to experiment. That auto-tune haha. I agree with what you say about her voice always sounding like "AIMI" and I'm sure that she'll sound more like herself when they perform live. I'm actually excited too!
I have the same observation, Tony, that AIMI's voice is unrecognizable in AiU's song, if we don;t know the band's members. I do agree with your desire for AIMI to keep sounding a little bit more like AIMI. The problem with repackaging is that sometimes it is acceptable, while other times it is not. But all the same, considering that AIMI is back, I am truly wishing her success in both her solo work and with that of AiU.
The song was definitely interesting, I'll wait until I hear the whole song before I judge it, not really into metal but what I heard was pretty good. I agree with RS that it does seem she's experimenting, because a lot of people would get bored just doing the same thing over and over and she is doing her own solo stuff. Side note wonder when she'll release something of her own? And that video, someone was definitely taking some LSD when they made that!
