I've watched many versions of Hitohira No Hanabira.

The Original Studio Version is here :
    http://youtu.be/vYV-XJdzupY

Music played in middle speed , AIMI voice is so sweet on high pitch , sound relax and clear , and some syllable at the end of segment spelled quite long. It's make widely dynamic range to the song, That's so Incredible.

I think this is the best version.

But in many live concert , They play a bit faster and harder , AIMI voice sounds a bit stress , some long spelling is shorten.
It's sound more rock but it's sound strange.

This version is similar to the Original style but AIMI's Voice was changed :(

Finally , In the Final Live Concert. They perform special version of Hitohira No Hanabira. It's come with maximum energy and emotion. I think this is very good version for memorial.

Keep in mind that you're comparing a studio recording from 2008 with live performances in 2009 and later. From my experience I can confidently say that the sound you hear in the live videos is not exactly the same as you would hear it if you were at the venue yourself. In my opinion AIMI sounds a lot more like how she does in studio recordings than most other artists. "Hitohira no Hanabira" might not be the best example for this since we're talking about the band's oldest song. AIMI should have been 17-years-old when the song was recorded. She was still a child back then so her voice was bound to change.

22-year-old AIMI is going to sound much different from 18-(17)-year-old AIMI because of how singers' voices get deeper gradually as they grow older. Also, "Hitohira no Hanabira" is one of the band's oldest songs, so they've had plenty of times to "improve" it over time. This can include slightly changing how it's performed to accommodate AIMI's changing vocals or how their equipment is set up for the live.

This is actually the newest studio recording of the song and closest to how the song sounded up to that point. They performed it live, supposedly in one take, so that's why it has both that feel of a studio recording and a live performance. So, if you compare all of the latest performances of "HnH" to this video, then you should find that they sound more similar to this recording than to the original recording.

I'm pretty sure the reason why it sounds different is because of MAO's guitar presence. You can hear her much better than in the Key Club video, so you probably just didn't notice it there. Again, compare this to the new studio version from 2012.
